PALETTE

STYLE In an effort to blend in with the locals, Jesse's wardrobe has adapted over time and taken on a retro vibe that calls back to Marlon Brando in The Wild One or James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause while maintaining elements of his hip hop-inspired personal style. The basic components of Jesse's outfit are generally the same on any given day: sneakers, skinny or cuffed jeans, fitted t-shirt, and leather jacket. There's an obvious gangster/biker influence to his fashion choices and he often looks, quite frankly, like he might rob someone at gunpoint. That's the point. He's a small guy and he compensates by dressing to intimidate. He wants to look like someone who shouldn't be messed with. In terms of colors, Jesse favors black overall. It dominates most of his wardrobe, in various pure or distressed forms. His t-shirts are the only pieces that tend to get colorful, sometimes bearing loud illustrations or patterns. He pointedly enjoys royal and religious motifs in his artwork: fleur-de-lis, crowns, skulls, angel wings, and crosses. The secondary colors that feature most prominently are blue, red, and gold. In the past, his clothing was quite loud, but now it's much more subdued, almost somber.

ROUTINE

Jesse spends his weekdays at the Xavier School for imPorts, where he works as a school nurse. He lives in the dormitory, so he eats his breakfast in the cafeteria and can be expected in the infirmary around 8 a.m., remaining there until about 4 or 5 p.m., after which he's on-call. Sometimes he'll grab lunch in downtown Heropa, but not usually. Jesse's nights are a free-for-all. He makes it a point to change up his routine so he can't be tracked easily. When he's feeling especially lonely, he might spend the night in a hotel room with some random girl, but since he's adopted Lucy (Ellie and Joel's dog), he sleeps in his own room more often than he did in the past. Jesse stopped cooking meth in late December 2014, which has freed up his weekends. Though he still travels to Maurtia Falls for business meetings every now and then, he's limited these instances as much as possible under the assumption that he's being watched by Skye, Loki, or other unknown members of the investigation into his meth business. When there's no criminal business to be done, Jesse devotes his weekends to charity. If there's no official event to attend, then he volunteers his skills at the hospital or responds to imPort emergencies.

SPARE TIME

How Jesse's spending his free time depends entirely on his current mood. He hates to be alone and he likes to remain entertained or otherwise distracted. If no one's around, he watches a lot of mindless television or plays video games or listens to music. He also likes to walk around town or go to the beach. If he can't be with people, he wants to be around people. In the evenings, he frequents bars and clubs even though he can't get wasted anymore. He enjoys the crowds. If at all possible, Jesse tries to stay in the company of his friends. He'll check in on them at work or otherwise hang around at their place. Since he and Skye broke up, he spends more time hanging out around the school and watching over the kids there. Jesse likes to act as a surrogate father, so playing with children or taking them out to eat or to the movies or shopping is a favorite pastime. Jesse suffers from depression that can overwhelm him at times, usually as a result of some trigger or a traumatic event. When that happens, he grows reclusive and distances himself from the people he's close to. He opts to spend his time in the company of strangers, usually prostitutes or junkies he runs into - people who feel more like they belong to "his world". On days like those, he'll disappear off to some seedy motel and spend all night fucking and getting other people high on his product. It feels like an accomplishment, at least.

MANNERISMS

Jesse cannot stand still. He paces all the time and he's the fidgety type, more so when he's nervous. He's constantly moving his hands, either wringing them or drumming on nearby surfaces or picking at the skin around his fingernails. When he's feeling vulnerable, he'll rub at his neck. When he's exasperated or annoyed, he'll rub at his face. In fact, most clues about his mood can be determined by looking at his hands. His face is also highly expressive. His eyebrows tell a lot about how he's processing information, whether he's struggling with a concept or feeling skeptical. A quirk of his eyebrow usually punctuates a sarcastic statement. He has difficulty hiding his confusion or his disgust, outright grimacing in gross or challenging situations. When he's idle, he'll roll his tongue around in his mouth. He wets his lips a lot and chews on his fingernails, too. Jesse isn't a very good liar. He looks immensely guilty when he's confronted with something directly by someone that he cares about, wide-eyed and mouth agape while he struggles to find his excuse. He'll make eye contact, but he'll do it too consciously, as if he knows he's not supposed to look away. When it comes to the authorities, he often doesn't even bother to cover up the fact that he's lying. He'll flout his accuser's lack of proof with a dry "I don't know what you're talking about" that obviously says that he does, or else cock his head and smirk and challenge someone to come at him with something solid.

POSSESSIONS

Jesse is extremely wealthy as a result of his meth business. He currently has around $4.5 million in cash stashed in various hiding places. He spends lavishly on others and himself, having amassed a large wardrobe and collection of electronics. In addition to his rolling Airstream meth lab (now destroyed), Jesse owns a '69 banana yellow Chevrolet Corvette Stingray as his main car, a '65 cherry red Shelby Mustang GT350 that he uses in Pennsylvania, and two motorcycles: a red Ducati Cafe Racer and a yellow Suzuki RN370. He recently purchased a red 1947 Flxible Starliner Motorhome and a safehouse outside Maurtia Falls. He also inherited Saul Goodman's yacht. Jesse otherwise lives simply for a multimillionaire. His non-business-related possessions all fit into his dorm room at Xavier's and he hasn't invested in any personal property. His furniture is all standard-issue, whatever came with the room when he moved in. As far as weapons go, Jesse owns a small arsenal. He keeps a Ruger SP101 on his body whenever he's not on school property. His safehouse is equipped with a Mossberg 500 and a Ruger KGP-161. There's a Beretta 85F in his car and a silenced Heckler & Koch Mark 23 nearby when he's sleeping.

PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE

Beyond his instagram and the file that was leaked by Freddie Lounds, Jesse has been selectively open about himself when discussing his life on the network. By simply following his previous public conversations, one can pick up on the broader details. He's revealed that he's from Albuquerque, New Mexico, in the year 2010, and that his world lacked superheroes and supernatural phenomena - at least, to his knowledge. He's claimed to be a high school dropout and that he was previously employed in pest control. He's 26 years old as of September 27 and he has an 8-year-old son named Brock who is not his biological child. He's separated from Brock's mother but continued to provide child support until he was ported in. Before moving to Xavier's, he worked at the Heropa Youth Center as a childcare assistant. He is currently Registered and active as a hero. Jesse's connections to the drug world are currently unknown to the general public. Although he's admitted to being a recovering addict, he's never mentioned past involvement with the drug trade as a dealer to anyone other than Skye. Jesse avoids involving himself in any criminal activities around Heropa. Even in criminal circles, only Oswald Cobblepot and a few of his trusted associates are aware of his true role as a drug lord. In other shady dealings, Jesse acts as if he is merely a lackey working for a shadowy kingpin. Jesse never overtly discusses criminal activity using his government-issued communicator. He uses an untraceable burner phone for all underworld contact and prefers meeting face-to-face.
