[It's not as if Jesse wants to be alone. He hates being alone. Especially right now, when he can feel the urge to just give in and get high nagging at him, because if he just takes a bump then he'll be fearless and strong and he can go into battle without a care for his own survival. Being alone is the worst in times like these.
So if she wants him to stay - even if she's suddenly getting shy about it - he's alright with that. He sinks onto the bed next to her and puts his arms around her again, either sensing intuitively what she was asking for or projecting his own wants. Maybe he's wrong, but she'll hit him if he is, and he'll let go.]
[If someone had told her a month ago that she'd be in a situation like this, she would have laughed in their face. As it is, she lets out a shaky breath when his arms are around her, taking a moment to get settled, pressing her face against his shoulder and clinging just a little.]
[He lets out a nervous little laugh, not sure how to respond otherwise. Like, does she know who she's hugging right now? Not that it matters. She's safe with him. But he doesn't want to make a wrong move and scare her like he did with Sonya.
Still, she's cuddling up to him, so that's a good sign. He eases up a bit, his shoulders dropping as he hooks his arms around her waist and gets comfortable with her there.]
[If she didn't feel safe with him, she wouldn't have gotten into his bed at all, regardless of whether he was in it or not.
As it is, she just decides to shut up and actually try to get some rest, which feels like it might be possible now that she's not alone. Once she's comfortable, she slowly relaxes, her breathing evening out.
In a sleepy mumble, she says something that's probably thanks, but that's all she bothers with before letting sleep claim her. It won't last long, and she really only dozes, but it's better than nothing.]

I promise not to get handsy.
[If all else fails: bad jokes.]
