i have never not been an empath. literally my entire life i have been able to sense people emotionally, it is completely ingrained and an instinctual part of my nature, and to not have it suddenly is in fact like somebody no longer having their eyes or their arms or like, their sense of touch or something. for me it is losing a part of myself.
the last time someone took it from me was the UE
before that it was people who took it from me specifically as a method of torture because they knew exactly how disorienting and painful it is for me
so yeah. it's assault, and it's akin to torture. for someone who hasn't always had it maybe not, but for us it's kind of a huge deal.
what, have you got some special view on it that i don't? speaking from personal experience or something? you think you know better than the person who lives with it?
