[He could take the Stingray. It's still sitting in his garage, after all. But he opts for Joel's pickup truck, instead. Something a little less conspicuous, a little more befitting of his mood. Once he's at Kotetsu's house, he sends a text:]

[Oh here comes the fun part. Standing. It takes her what feels like minutes, when in reality it's been 30 seconds to get up. She brushed off someone who said she shouldn't drive by saying someone was picking her up.

Making it outside after her side hit the frame of the door, Skye had the fun time of walking down the stairs.

A...pick up truck? Running her hand through her hair, Skye opened the door and climbed in.]

[There's an ice-cold bottle of water in the cupholder beside him, which he picks up and offers to her.]

[Skye takes the bottle of water from him and chugs half of it down immediately. As if there hadn't been plenty of water in the house to begin with. Placing it between her legs to put her seatbelt on, Skye leaned back into the seat.]

[Jesse gives her a wan smile and starts driving.]

So... Your place? The beach house?

...A hotel?

[She just assumed they were going to the beach house. She didn't think there was an option.]

Well, I don't think Alison would appreciate seeing me like this.

[She had hinted at being an alcoholic a while ago.]

She's one of my roommates. Not sure if you've ever met her.

[Skye reached for the water bottle again.]

Why'd you suggest a hotel?

[He's the one who didn't want to be around people after all. Smirking at the own joke in her head, she finally said it out loud.]

Think you're going to get lucky if we go to some fancy hotel?

I like hotels. When I'm alone, I try a different one every night. Have different names, be different people, look outta different windows and sleep in different beds. Usually nothing as nice as the beach house, but...

[Jesse glances at her.]

If it takes a fancy one to get me laid, I could take you there.

[Skye listened as intently as she could, given that she wasn't all there at the moment.]

[Skye gives him a sarcastic smile at his offer. She honestly wasn't sure if she was in the mood.]

[Jesse doesn't really expect her to be paying much attention to him. Just talking to fill the space. He turns the wheel, taking them through downtown.]

I'll just take us to the closest one. How's that?

[He imagines her priority is mostly to get out of this car and into a comfy bed.]
