[Jesse's in bed, which is where he's been ever since he got his body back. Practically comatose. But he's not drugged this time (which is the whole problem, really) so he hears the knocking and drags himself up and shuffles over to the door to pull it open.

He looks terrible. Pale. Eyes puffy and red. On the door knob, his hand is shaking. When he sees it's Rin, he looks away uncomfortably and steps aside with a gesture for her to come in.]

[Her stare is frank and borderline challenging. She steps right in, posture upright, shoulders back, not missing how bad he looks.]

What's going on with you?

[hostage]

[He doesn't know what she's referring to, so that gets a dully confused look.]

Well... you look terrible.

[hostage]

[Jesse drops his gaze momentarily. Oh, yeah, he probably does look like shit. It hadn't occurred to him.]

Uh, nothing. Just Edgeworth...

[He doesn't finish the thought. He simply shrugs and rubs the back of his neck.]

Jesse... [She pauses, watching his face intently.]

Are you okay?

Yeah, I'm fine. Sick. I'll get over it.

[Still staring, not wholly bought off by that but taking it for now.]

[He rolls his eyes.]

Jesus, you're still worried about that thing? It was fake. Obviously.
